Mr. Tae Ki Ghil joined Lee & Ko after serving for 25 years as a prosecutor. During his distinguished career in the criminal justice system, he held numerous positions of responsibility and, most notably, served as a Deputy Prosecutor General at the Supreme Prosecutor's Office and as the Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Justice. Mr. Ghil's diverse experience includes, among other things, extensive experience in in special investigations and anti-corruption.Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Ghil demonstrated excellent investigative and supervisory skills in handling large-scale corruption cases and systemic corruption in public entities. Some of the more high-profile cases handled by Mr. Ghil include: (i) cases involving slush funds of former Korean presidents Doo Hwan Chun and Tae Woo Roh, (ii) bribery scandal cases involving Hak No Jang, the Chief Personal Secretary to the President of Korea, (iii) cases relating to corruption in the Han Bo Group, (iv) illegal rebate practices involving doctors at major hospitals and pharmaceutical companies, (v) a corruption case involving members of the Jeollanam-do Education Committee, (vi) extensive investigation relating to nuclear power plant bribery matters, and (ix) cases involving embezzlement and tax evasion committed by the CJ Group.
