Taekyoung Kwon has worked at the Financial Supervisory Service for about 17 years, mainly in the working-level departments, and is the first lawyer to be promoted to Deputy Director. He has a wealth of experience in financial regulatory work, including financial company inspections and unfair trade practices investigations, and is recognized as one of the foremost financial regulatory experts among ex-Financial Supervisory Service lawyers.

Mr. Kwon was the first lawyer to serve as the head of the Inspection Team and head of the Investigation Team. He was responsible for coordinating investigations and review of measures for six years while working in all three of the departments related to unfair trade practices investigations. He also served as the inspection team leader at the Financial Investment Inspection Bureau, the Bank Compliance Inspection Bureau, and the Asset Management Inspection Bureau where he conducted inspections and review of measures for securities companies and banks.

In the Legal Affairs Department, he provided legal advice relating to banks, holding companies, and non-bank financial institutions. In the Sanctions Review Bureau, he served as the head of the Financial Investment Team for two years, coordinating the review of all measures against financial investment companies, including measures related to unsafe business practices of securities companies and electronic financial incidents, and review of measures resulting from inspections of securities companies and asset management companies, especially those related to incomplete sales of private equity funds.

As co-head of the Financial Compliance Team of Lee & Ko, Mr. Kwon advises on all aspects of financial regulations, especially in relation to inspections and unfair trade investigations of banks, securities companies and asset management companies.
